Our Foundation Phase learners had a morning to remember! We were delighted to welcome the author of Best Buddy in a Shell for a heartwarming visit that left little smiles all around.
She read her beautiful story to our Grade R to Grade 3 learners and shared a powerful life lesson: we can all be friends, no matter the differences. Through the story of a shy creature finding friendship, our children learned that kindness, empathy, and inclusion matter more than how we look or where we come from.
The excitement didn’t stop at the story. Each child received their very own copy of Best Buddy in a Shell to take home. And as a special surprise, our guest brought along lovely shells for every learner — a tangible reminder of the day’s message to cherish and hold onto.
We saw thoughtful questions, big hugs for new friends, and lots of careful shell examining during break time. It was the kind of morning that sticks with you.
